Music Filing Boxes
Is it possible for someone to download music from my ITunes without me knowing?
My version of ITunes is like 6.0237 or something like that, and I looked and apparently the “Look for shared music” box was checked, but not the “Share my music” box. We have DSL here, but for some reason, my ITunes won’t even connect to the music store; it tells me to check my connection.
So basically, is it possible for someone to download my files from my library in ITunes without my knowledge? Or is it possible for anything to be “leaked”?
Ok- thx for the answers so far (first 4)- I’m just like, ITunes illiterate… so if I’m in NY- and I have a firewall, it’s just not possible for someone from, say, CA to get ahold of my library of music? We’d have to share the same comp for that to happen, right?
I don’t use Limewire or any P2P software like Kazaa or whatever- it’s all not on the computer.
Sharing means sharing between users of the same computer or between iPods. There is no way to upload or download to your computer unless you have somehow installed a malware program that acts like Limewire.
Install a firewall such as ZoneAlarm and it will catch anything like that.
