Music Production Workstation
Best DAW for music synthesis and dance music production?
I’m looking for a good DAW for producing some synth sounds (looking at some trance here). Bascially I’m looking for a digital audio workstation with a good software synthesizer. It should have a user-friendly interface and have the ability to emulate hardware synths (through VSTs or other plugins). I’ve had experiences with Logic and I was wondering what people think would be the best for completely digital dance music production. I am familiar with using the default Logic plug-ings and some aspects of the Environment feature.
Any help, especially from experienced producers would be appreciated.
I’m getting a new laptop, so I wouldn’t mind getting a PC or Mac (although Macs are horribly overpriced). I’ve looked at Reason, and it looks like it goes the full monty. Any more answers will be appreciated.
Logic is the best providing you have a MAC. Cubase is the only alternative if you have a PC. You will need a number of good soft-synths:-
Native Instruments Battery 3 is the best drum syntheszier.
then something like N.I Kore 3 or Massive for the trance type sounds.
